Intro:
CritiqueU.com will be an online resume critiquing website, where users will upload their resume and recieve it back with comments and suggestions on how to enhance it.
Concept Statement:
A website which will allow users to improve their resume through online resume critiques, while charging lower prices than any current resume improvement service.
Description:
CritiqueU.com will be a website for individuals who want to improve their resumes. The idea is simple. A user will pay a small fee, upload their resume document to our website, and get it back within a certain amount of time (depending on the plan they choose) with comments and suggestions on how to improve their resume.
The idea came to me when I was going into the career service center at Michigan State University for the first time to have my resume reviewed by an employer. I was terrified of what I was going to hear. I was also freezing, walking 25 minutes from off campus to the career center during the winter. And then I thought, what if I could have my resume reviewed online! After my resume review session, I ran home to see if their were any services currently available. To my suprise, their where. However, they were only resume writing services that costed, at minimum, $100. That was unrealistic for me. I was a broke college student. I was trying to improve my resume so I could make money. How was I supposed to come up with $100! And then the idea hit me. What if there was a cheap, online resume CRITIQUING services that you could submit your resume to online. CritiqueU was born. The websites is directed towards college students, providing cheap, efficient, and effective online resume critiques.
How Will This Benefit Lansing
Better resumes in the East Lansing and Lansing area will cause more locals to earn jobs, make more money, spend more money, and help the economy as well as the city as a whole. In the simplest or terms ,CritiqueU = better resumes for Lansing natives = More jobs for Lansing natives = More money for Lansing natives = More money for the Lansing economy = A better Lansing. So CritiqueU = A better Lansing!
