Have you ever had an awesome idea you wanted to share with students? Your student organization was throwing a big event, you’re working on an ambitious project, or maybe you’re really passionate about a specific topic and you want to tell others about it? As you’ve probably discovered, it’s not easy spreading information on a campus with over 40,000 students.
And students are missing out because they don’t know. That’s a problem. There are incredible people in and around this campus that are doing extraordinary things, creating great opportunities, and making a valuable impact on the community. If there was a better platform for sharing this information, imagine what would be possible—big things!
With all the technological advances, blogging as emerged as an effective way to communicate ideas. If you’re writing is interesting and beneficial, people will read it and you’ll get your message across. Unfortunately, blogging isn’t easy. It takes time and energy to set up and it takes a lot of investment before you start to see a return of readers. Plus, if everyone with a great idea had a blog, there would be so many blogs, people would still be missing the message.
So here’s my solution. We create a website comprised of student blogs (we’ll be nice and let faculty, alumni, and community members write too) so that any student that has something valuable to say has an outlet to say it. All the information is in one place, so students have one-stop access to find out about everything important going on around campus.
In essence, my bright idea is to create a hotspot of information and ideas so that we can get students to start sharing their great ideas and make big things happen on this campus.
